So much to do…
In our travels we are trying to break up the property search with some fun- we need a change sometimes! We went to Knoxville and went through Market Square (shops and restaurants) and saw the Sunsphere, the observation tower from the 1982 World’s Fair:
We also went to Dandridge to Bush’s Beans factory. Unfortunately the museum was closed, but we had lunch at their restaurant. The bean flavor of the day (they give samples when you are seated) was Rustic Tuscany, which is made with chick peas. I know, you are thinking YUCK! Wrong- they were great, and would be fantastic in minestrone soup! We got 2 cans in their store, and got to hang out with Jay and Duke:
I already told you about Gatlinburg, which has nothing on Pigeon Forge- WOW! Pigeon Forge is a family vacation wonderland: Dollywood amusement park is there, and there are miles of other attractions and activities for the entire family! There are numerous shows, like the Dolly Stampede, Comedy Barn, Hatfields & McCoys, and Pirates:
Other attractions we saw were the wax museum:
A family fun center called Beyond the Lens and another called Magi Quest:
And there was plenty of kitsch:
There were also escape rooms, cool mini-golf courses, shopping, go karts, arcades, restaurants, hotels– who could ask for anything more? So if you head this way, bring your credit cards and your inner child- you are sure to have a blast!
Interestingly, today was a moderate air day- the AQI was at 66– which in Bakersfield would be a good day- and the sky here was still very blue!
