Rain, Rain, Go Away…

We haven’t had internet for a couple days while staying in state parks, so thanks for your patience! Driving through eastern Oklahoma has been a surprise- we had visions of the Dust Bowl in our heads, and it was green and lush and the forest was right up to the freeway! We arrived in Arkansas, and it was the same!

We stayed in the Lake Dardanelle State Park campground, just outside Russellville, Arkansas, and it is a huge lake, with 2 marina’s a couple boat launches, a great visitor center, hiking trails, picnic areas, and 3 campgrounds! Below is a picture of the swimming beach at the park, plus the evacuation route sign that is at the entrance to the park- because there is a nuclear power plant just across the lake!

We have been very impressed with the scenery in both Oklahoma and Arkansas- at least the small amount that we have seen on I-40!
