It’s raining, it’s pouring…
We got up early Monday morning and got everything ready to travel, then headed to Gander’s RV to see if our leveling system keypad came in- IT DID! As we walked in the door of the store they were calling us to say it was in- talk about great service! Back to the campsite-20 minutes to swap out the keypad, reset the level point, check everything, hook up and hit the road!
Driving through the eastern part of the Texas panhandle was nice- not quite as flat as the western part, and a bit greener. Oklahoma is a real surprise- it is nice rolling hills covered with wheat and other crops, and trees in the low spots. This is a nice change from the desert of CA, AZ and NM!
Then came the rain… and lightning and thunder! We are staying in El Reno, OK at a county park that is right on the lake. The lake is very large and nice- at least I think it is through all the rain that started falling as we were driving. This is the view from our trailer, toward the lake- notice all the large puddles. We did see lots of geese and goslings, which is fun.
We only hooked up electricity because we are only here 1 night and we were getting soaked getting the trailer leveled and plugged in! We have waited for a lull in the rain, and have finally given up- we can make do with water we brought with us! Tomorrow we drive to Arkansas, and it is supposed to be a full day of rain- ok for driving, but not as much fun for getting ready to travel and for setting up at our new campground- it will be an adventure!
We saw this great blue heron on our way out of the campground on Tuesday.
I loved the Civil War writings.
