Gone Hiking!

We needed a break from driving around looking at property (and mostly being disappointed because it either has a steep grade or is very expensive), so we went for a hike! We got a gift of an awesome book on waterfalls in Tennessee, so we chose Laurel Run Falls – the book said it was flat and easy, and about 2.2 miles roundtrip- perfect! Well, it was NOT flat, and I would call it moderate- maybe because I haven’t gotten a lot of exercise over the past 2 years…

Luckily we were in the shade most of the way, because it was HOT and Humid- 93 degrees and 82% humidity- yuck!

The path was next to the creek, and there were several little teasers along the way… And then we got to the falls:

Not as rip-roaring as the picture in the book, but still very pretty- especially for us parched Californians! While we were at the falls a mom and her son came, planning to swim. She said it was not as big as the last time they were there, so they didn’t stay long.

We were hot and sweaty after the hike, but it was still a fun day!
