Myrtle Beach
On to Myrtle Beach:
Myrtle Beach is a lot like Pigeon Forge, TN- lots of activities but with a beach vibe. Lots of kitsch, like this restaurant and beach gear store:
And Myrtle Beach is the mini-golf capitol of the world, with 50 courses- who knew? Here are a couple of them:
And a couple more:
My brother and his husband retired to Myrtle Beach this year, and they have a beautiful penthouse condo right across the street from the beach! Here is their view and a sunset from their balcony:
I can certainly understand why they want to be on the beach! Can you imagine having that view every day?!?
We met them for dinner in Calabash, a small water front town north of Myrtle Beach, and this is the pier next to the restaurant:
This is the kind of grass in the water EVERYWHERE!
We went up to Wilmington, NC to see what was there and to look at a housing development (BEAUTIFUL home but too expensive). Unfortunately we were too late to take a tour of the USS North Carolina, a battleship from WWII:
While in Wilmington we thought we were in Cali- there was smoke and ash everywhere from a fire that started as a controlled burn, then went out of control:
I don’t miss all that smoke and ash!
