Myrtle Beach real estate
We visited 2 Del Webb communities: Grand Dunes in Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle Beach (it’s a separate city- crazy, huh?). We LOVED Grand Dunes- the Del Webb community is within the larger Grand Dunes development, with it’s own amenities, including a resort style pool, indoor lap pool, gym, tennis courts, pickle ball courts, bocce ball, activities, a marina, 2 golf courses (one private and one public), AND access to the Beach Club, which includes an even bigger pool, and beach access with private beach chairs and umbrellas and towel service! Oh, and a restaurant and bar! We visited the models twice to pick out the one we liked best- they were all beautiful.
We also visited the Del Webb community in North Myrtle Beach, which is newer and will be smaller because it will just be the Del Webb development. It still has the resort pool, indoor lap pool, gym, activity center with a social/activity director, tennis, pickle ball, bocce ball, etc. The floor plans are different from those at Grand Dunes, so we had to visit them twice to pick our favorite:
There are so many benefits to these communities- all the activities and opportunities to meet people (and not be isolated), beautiful houses and neighborhoods, and you can get around the neighborhood and go to the grocery store and beach via a 5 minute golf cart ride! How cool is that?
Jerry and I both got nasty colds (he started it!), so we took it easy for a couple days, just looking at houses and then going to the beach for a bit- gotta put those Costco chairs to good use! One of the big differences between the beach at Isle of Palms near Charleston and Myrtle Beach was Isle of Palms was lined with houses and Myrtle had houses, hotels and condos- lots of condos! I guess I didn’t take a picture of Myrtle Beach condos- sorry!
I went out to dinner one evening with Jim and Rob (Jerry was feeling pretty poorly with his cold, and mine hadn’t really started yet), and we went out for crabs- YAY! Maryland Blue crabs are the best! It has been several years since I had them and “picked” them- it was fun and delicious! Some people think it’s to much work, but not me. Thanks, Jim and Rob!
