No internet makes things difficult!
We left Idaho and traveled to Winnemucca, Nevada.
We had been there MANY years ago, and there were billboards leading the way for about 200 miles (200 miles to beautiful Winnemucca… 150 miles to beautiful Winnemucca…)– billboards are gone, and Winnemucca is bigger! It’s still not a place I would like to live- hot and in the middle of desert! One night in Winnemucca, then on to Reno.
We spent 3 nights in Reno in the campground at the Grand Sierra Resort. This allowed us to walk across the street to the resort and use the facilities- which we did! We looked at real estate online, decided it was to expensive, the weather was too hot, and the scenery was too desert- then put on our bathing suits and went to the resort pool! Yes, we were there with a couple hundred other people, but it was cool and relaxing. In fact we hung out at the pool for 3-4 hours per day for the next 2 days- it was wonderful! Clouds came out and blocked the baking heat of the sun, and we read, went for a dip, relaxed… heaven! Reno was getting ready for Hot August Nights, a major car show, and we saw some of the cars as other campers pulled into the campground and unloaded their classic cars and hot rods from car trailers. It was too hot to go to the car show, but we saw a few.
Even at this resort, we had no wifi- when we do this next time we will need to bring our own wifi along!
